Garrett Keast (orchestral conductor); For the 2011/12 season, Garrett will serve as Musical Assistant and Conductor at Deutsche Oper Berlin (performances will include Die Zauberflote, Hansel und Gretel, and Carmen). The 2010/11 season began at the Opera de Paris, where Garrett assisted Christoph Eschenbach with a new production of Hindemith’s Mathis der Maler. He also conducted the RIAS Jugendorchester in a New Year's Gala Concert of Rossini, Mendelssohn, and Beethoven in Berlin's Konzerthaus. This spring he is serving as assistant conductor of Germany's Schwetzinger SWR Festspiele with conductor Stefan Blunier for the world premiere performances of Bluthaus, by Georg Friedrich Haas. Keast will conduct the first revival of Bluthaus at Oper Bonn in September. In Hamburg, he will prepare Nathaniel Stookey’s new MAHL/ER/WERK with the NDR Young ClassX Project Orchestra for Christoph Eschenbach. Garrett Keast returns to the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra where he will assist Robert Spano with their season finale performances.
Michael Newnham (orchestral conductor); Music Director: Peterborough Symphony Orchestra, New Brunswick Symphony Orchestra, Northumberland Orchestra and Choir, Mississauga Youth Orchestra, Kawartha Youth Orchestra. He is an alumnus of the Indiana University School of Music and of the Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw. Former Conductor of the Warsaw Chamber Opera and Professor of Conducting at the Taegu-Hyosung University in South Korea. Conductor of Gala Concert for Pope John Paul II at Toronto's Air Canada Centre.
