The Kirby String Quartet

Founding members of the Markham Street Chamber Concerts, audience favourites on the Toronto Music Garden Concert series, the Les Amis Concerts and in existence for only one year, the Kirby String quartet is rapidly establishing a place for itself among Canada's premier chamber groups. Individually the player's (Julia Wedman and Aisslinn Nosky, violins; Max Mandel, viola; and Carina Reeves, cello) backgrounds include performances with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra of the National Ballet of Canada, Tafelmusik, the Seiler Strings Chamber Orchestra and Opera Atelier, among others. As a quartet they share a conviction of the excitement and wonder to be found in the world of classical music which is evident in their imaginative programming and sometimes risky performances.
