Marie Berard (violin), Concert Master Canadian Opera Company
Orch., sought after chamber musician, soloist, recording artist and
teacher. Former member Toronto Symph. Orch. Highly regarded as
interpreter of new music. Solo recordings include solo sonatas of
Bright Cheng, Anthony Davis, Alfred Schnittke Concerto Grosso #1
and "Meditation" from Thais. Regular performer at numerous
chamber music festivals.
Corey Gemmell (violin), B. Mus. Performance, M. Mus. Performance,
member of toneART ensemble, Elgin String Trio, Concertmaster
Symphony Hamilton Orch. and member of Esprit Orchestra.
Highlights from 2000/2001 season include solos in Munich, Germany
and performances of Mozetich's Violin Concerto, Brahms' Concerto
for Violin and Cello, and Saint-Saens Havanaise. A frequent
adjudicator at music festivals, Mr. Gemmell is on the faculty at the
Royal Conservatory of Music.
Susan Gagnon (cello), Principal contributor to new RCM cello
syllabus. RCM examiner. Adjudicator and workshop teacher in
Montreal and Ontario area. RCM faculty since 1984. Member
Hamilton Philharmonic and String Quartet Panache. Mus. B., U. of
Western Ontario. Master Classes with Janos Starker, Aldo Parisot,
Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi.
Meg Hill (director, violin), Freelance violinist; mother of three; private
teaching studio, former faculty at Westchester Conservatory of
Music, Bedford Central School District, Pleasantville School District.
Co-founder and Director of Music at Port Milford. B. Mus. Oberlin
Conservatory, Honors String Quartet West. Michigan U.
Angela Rudden (viola), Principal violist National Ballet, member
Canadian Opera Co. Performances as soloist and chamber musician
in Europe and Japan. Private teaching studio, Toronto. Mus.B.
Queens U., M.M. Musik Hochschule Munich.
Sung-Rai Sohn (violin, conductor), Founder and first violinist
Laurentian String Quartet, former Conductor and Director of chamber
music at Sarah Lawrence College. As a member of Laurentian String
Quartet performed with Eugenia Zuckerman, Tokyo String Quartet,
Borodin String Quartet and Fine Arts Quartet. B.M. Peabody, M.F.A.
